Romania, a special case.

The UIT code is a specific aspect of the import formalities in Romania. It is a unique identification code assigned to each importer by the Romanian customs authorities. This code is used to identify importers and to facilitate customs procedures.

Procedure for obtaining an UIT code:

1. Application: The importer must submit an application to the Romanian customs authorities. This can often be done online via the website of the National Customs Authority: www.customs.ro
2. Documentation: The importer must provide documentation such as company registration papers,
proof of address, and EORI number.
3. Assignment: After assessing the application, the customs authority will assign the UIT code

This data must be communicated to the Romanian authorities on the relevant website: https://www.customs.ro
