A customer approached us with a specific challenge: how to safely transport their expensive shoes—worth around €500 per pair—from Europe to China by train. The main concern was the high humidity along the route, which can seriously damage the leather. Despite this, the customer preferred rail transport via the new Silk Road due to its speed and predictable transit times. Sea freight, at that moment, was proving less reliable.
To meet this challenge, we arranged transportation by train, with special attention to packaging. The goods were enclosed in a protective “inner tent” to create a controlled environment. We ensured a constant humidity level throughout the journey, managed the change in track gauges, and coordinated timely and reliable delivery schedules.
